The TOLBY® program is a free interactive and memorable energy efficiency education resource for youth in grades 1st through 5th. The program features a 40 minute in-class visit, and pre and post supporting activities. The program also aligns with Minnesota State Science Standards and STEM curriculum.
A TOLBY visit lasts 40 minutes and is free. We can present to a minimum of 10 with no maximum (providing there is a large enough space to accommodate everyone). Most presentations are to individual classrooms, or whole grade levels with 2 to 4 classrooms together. We will always travel to schools and locations within the Twin Cities Metro. We are willing to travel farther, but it is more subject to scheduling availability.
Tolby (Turn Off Lights Behind You) is a firefly who loves to save energy! His tail is different than other fireflies though -- it is powered by a compact fluorescent light bulb or CFL. A CFL uses less energy so now Tolby can fly around to visit my friends and stay bright for a long time without getting tired.
