Abstract:

Grades 3-5
Trash! is CLIMB's hilarious and instructive play which addresses the three R's of waste management, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". In this play James Gillwhistle is not concerned about trash until the day he carries it to the curb and it walks back with him... and stays with him. As the garbage becomes more of an inconvenience and begins to embarrass James at school, it becomes clear that he must get rid of it. Fortunately, at school that day, a representative from the area recycling program visits to give advice to students about how they can efficiently and effectively reduce, reuse and recycle. With these words of wisdom, James realizes that he has the power to shrink his garbage problem.
