Abstract:

Want to learn how to take your lessons outside? Think you can't possibly teach your lessons outside of the four walls of a classroom? Wonder if you can teach your subject outdoors?

Lauren Borer of Twin Cities Environmental Education Consulting, LLC is happy to offer half day or full day teacher workshops on just those topics!

Topics will include:
Outdoor Classroom Management
Teaching Across Curriculum and Meeting Standards
Teaching Phenology and Other Outdoor Lessons

Any school yard no matter how big or small, rural or urban can be used as an outdoor classroom! Your teaching staff will discover how to encourage students' curiosity of the natural world, foster a sense of place, and connect the classroom lessons with real world experiences and applications.

The workshops are meant for teachers of all age levels - Pre-K through Grade 12. The workshops should be held at your school so the teaching staff can experience lessons in their own school yard.

Workshop Fees:
Half day workshop (3 hours): $125 mileage
Full day workshop (6 hours): $250 mileage
