Abstract: 

Presents strategies for achieving a sustainable landscape (one where plants are well suited to existing light, moisture and soil conditions, and require low inputs of labor, fertilizers and pesticides to grow). A sustainable landscape preserves and protects nature's balance, while providing aesthetic pleasure. Discusses care of turf and trees, composting, integrated pest management and alternative strategies for urban environments. Four tables and 3 color photos.
