Abstract:

Farmers who remove tree windbreaks to accommodate center-pivot irrigation systems need to find out which shrubs could be used instead to control wind erosion. This publication presents findings from a 10-year-long shrub testing project. Recommends species that can be used as windbreaks in fields irrigated by center-pivot irrigation systems. Explains why various shrub species are not recommended for such use. Includes photos, charts. For farmers and growers, landowners.
