Abstract:

This video provides an overview of the greenhouse effect and global warming and illustrates how they directly relate to the amount of energy we consume. Based on research by the Union of Concerned Scientists, the program details the potential consequences of global warming and stresses the need for energy efficiency and renewable forms of energy. Major sources of CO2 (the primary greenhouse gas) are identified and specific activities that individuals, governments, and businesses could do to reduce the causes of global warming are discussed.
