The CCMR serves as a unifying advocacy and action oriented organization open to all citizens groups, businesses, faith communities, youth organizations, families and individuals who are interested in improving surface water quality in the Minnesota River Watershed.
CCMR serves as a catalyst, advocate, coordinator and supporter of the following activities/programs and actions:
Storm sewer runoff education and awareness programs
River bank and curb side organic debris clean up
School educational river presentations
Water quality monitoring program access
River and water quality related legislative initiatives
Riverblast, along with river related special events and banquets
River basin media coverage
I Love the Minnesota River musical educational program for all ages and schools

Various restoration projects
On the water river experiences
Minnesota River Watershed wide communications network access and interaction opportunities
Monitor and work with numerous agencies on government initiatives which are water quality related
Operation of the Regional River History and Information Center in New Ulm at Riverside Park.
Two Primary Programs Offered by CCMR:
I Love the Minnesota River - is an environmental education program that teaches individuals about the river through the use of music. This program is offered by Scott Sparlin once per year.
River Rangers - This is a local program that teaches students (age 8-16) about the natural world. The program is led by Ron Bolduan. Geographical limitations apply.
