RAMSEY COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS--TEMPORARY POSTION
Ramsey County seeks person to work in our summer lake monitoring program. We sample 28 lakes on a rotating basis and process the samples in our laboratory, May through October. The position offers experience in both field sampling and laboratory analysis. Some of the tests performed are: total and soluble reactive phosphorus, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, NO3-NO2 nitrogen, ammonia, dissolved oxygen, pH, specific conductance, temperature, turbidity, chloride, hardness, alkalinity, conductivity, chlorophyll, and suspended solids. We also do E. coli testing of Ramsey County beaches and monitor lake levels.
The job title of Engineering Aide (Environmental Services) has a pay rate of $16.75 an hour, with no benefits. This position is part time with up to 40 hours per week. Some time off without pay can be arranged. This position has a term of up to 6 months. Work hours are 8AM-4:30 PM, with a flexible schedule. Casual dress.
