Positive Energy Outdoors, a Duluth, Minnesota based 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, is hiring Outdoor Educator/Dog Sledding Apprentices. We have friendly and hard working Alaskan Husky teams, and excellent trails leave right from our kennel. Located only 15 miles north of Duluth and at our outpost located north of Grand Marais, we enjoy scenic forests, bogs and large lakes. Apprentices learn dog care, safety skills, fall ATV training techniques, sled handling, and outdoor education methods and practices helpful in many outdoor guide positions.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a strong work ethic. Your active lifestyle will help you enjoy the physical work and hours spent outdoors in a variety of weather. Our rescued and veteran racing sled dogs look forward to our daily hugs and appreciation. Many apprentices stay for the fall and winter season; however, each year we have options for continued full or part-time work and opportunities with our youth programs, climbing wall, kayaking trips, outdoor rock climbing, and draft horses.
Our programs encourage people and animal powered exploration of the outdoors. Teamwork, healthy risk taking, and positive communication create learning opportunities that can lead to a lifetime of active adventures.
To apply, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org a cover letter, resume, and three professional references. Positive Energy Outdoors is an equal opportunity employer.
