Assistant Director, David Weirens, is currently seeking to fill a Conservation Easement Section Manager position.  This position is located in St. Paul.

The position classification is a State Program Admin Manager, Senior.   This is a full-time, unlimited, and benefits eligible position.


The Conservation Easement Section Manager is responsible for providing leadership and vision to the Conservation Easement Section to protect, enhance and restore the state’s soil and water resources with emphasis directed to private land. This position is responsible for the acquisition of easements and other protective measures as provided in state law. Key to achieving these agency goals are assuring that local government natural resources efforts with private landowners are successfully integrated with state, federal, and private organization initiatives to attain an effective and efficient natural resource conservation delivery system.


As a senior leader, this position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of agency-wide policies and is responsible for representing the agency and generating interest and excitement in land conservation.
