The Audubon Center of the North Woods invites you to join us on this 4-night, 5 day lodge-based women’s adventure to experience one of the country’s most scenic trails!
Join us as we trek one of the top ten hiking trails in the US – the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). The trail skirts Lake Superior while running along Minnesota’s beautiful North Shore. This scenic wonder crosses through multiple state parks and offers stunning vistas, waterfalls, clear streams and rich forests, all the while being within view of the world’s greatest lake.
This week will be an active exploration of many gorgeous and challenging stretches of this gorgeous trail. Expect rugged hiking rewarded with great views and a tremendous sense of accomplishment. Each day will end with the cozy comforts of a lodge for conversation and libations. As a women’s-only program, this offers not only great scenery and comfortable accommodations, but enjoyable camaraderie as well.
Fall brings out the best in the SHT—low humidity, few bugs, intense colors, and migratory hawks and eagles. Lodging will be 2 nights at Cascade Lodge and 2 nights at Cove Point. Trip begins and ends at the Audubon Center of the North Woods (ACNW) near Sandstone, MN.
This all-inclusive trip includes transportation, naturalist guide, lodging and meals (restaurant meals and trail lunches).
Participants will meet at ACNW by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, September 29 and we will load up the vans and head out. Vans will return to the Center by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3.
