Come to Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve in East Bethel to join project members and fellow bird enthusiasts for hikes behind the fences to see the largest known breeding population of red-headed woodpeckers in Minnesota in their natural habitat! Walking tours to a variety of locations in the oak savanna will run during the day, citizen scientists will be on hand to discuss their research and monitoring work, and we’ll be working on a day-long bird list. Indoord program at the Lindeman Center from 10-11am, followed by guided tours til 2pm. Come learn about this incredible community-driven project and see some woodpeckers! You will also have an opportunity to visit our new bison area and potentially see the bison herd. (free, families welcome)
