The 39th Plank Summer Institute: Environmental Learning

Date:
Tuesday, June 26, 2018 to Thursday, June 28, 2018

Calling all Minnesota educators to the free Plank Summer Institute, June 26-28, 2018!

The Plank Fund for Teachers is made possible by a generous gift from Blake alumnus Mr. Raymond Plank and is hosted by The Blake School.

This year, the instutite will focus on human relationships with the natural world and environmental protection.

Plank Institute and Blake Service Learning Directors Nan Peterson and Lisa Sackreiter and Edina Public Schools Service Learning Coordinator Julie Rogers Bascom will facilitate conversations and arrange visits to metro-based organizations focused on nature, human relationships with the natural world, and environmental protection. Active learning experiences will include dialogue with area environmental experts, field trips (including some hands-in-dirt service) and reflection.

Teachers, administrators and staff from public, private, charter and independent schools across all academic disciplines and levels are welcome to participate. There is no registration fee, and meals, materials and bus transportation will be provided at no cost to participants.

Certificates of participation with hours will be provided for CEUs.
